Volunteer Facilitator information for the Pennsylvania Office of the Victim Advocate

Since 1998, the Office of the Victim Advocate has facilitated the Dialogue/Mediation Program for Victims of Violent Crime.  This program gives victims a chance to confront the offender and also gives the offender a chance to tell his/her story and to accept responsibility for the crime.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer facilitator, read the attached flyer and complete the included application.

John Everett is the prosecutor for the city of Kettering, Ohio. John is a member of the editorial board for Children's Rights, the quarterly Children’s Rights Litigation Committee newsletter.

The American Bar Association Section of Litigation Children’s Rights Litigation Committee (CRLC) was formed as the Task Force on Children by then Section Chair Louise LaMothe in 1992 in order to "inspire and assist lawyers to undertake the direct pro bono representation of children by supporting and encouraging the development or improvement of children’s law programs." Today, the CRLC is an active and vibrant committee consisting of several hundred members. A part-time staff person and a core Working Group of appointed members, including Child Advocates' Executive Director Frank Cervone and Managing Attorney Marguerite Gualtieri assist the Committee in its mission to:

Recruit pro bono lawyers for children;
Train children’s litigators; and
Assist in the creation and expansion of children’s law programs.

Youth United for Change Announces New Chapter!

Youth United for Change has started a new chapter for out of school youth and students in accelerated, alternative, re-engagement, and disciplinary placements.  Youth participants will conduct an action research project where they will be trained in research methods, conduct research on out of school youth, and then take action!
